JOB OVERVIEW

We are currently looking for an Operations Director who is capable of taking us to the next level.

You will work alongside our Heads of Department to execute the company’s vision, put procedures and automation in place, to promote scaling, optimize inefficient areas, and coordinate with the department heads.

Our ideal Operations Director has at least 5-10 years or more experience working in a similar role and has a strong understanding of the operational requirements and insights on how you can make processes better and more efficient. They must have the ability to inspire employees to live up to their potential and optimize their productivity.

The Operations Director must also demonstrate strong leadership skills, willingness to be in the trenches, and possess an entrepreneurial mindset approach.

We want a person that would build his own department with the personnel needed, and that would streamline our purchasing, reporting, cost analysis, expense reporting, payroll, inventory transfers, etc. as well as automate them using the existing company automation/project management tools

The potential candidate is for a core management team member - we are looking for someone who is smart, capable, mission-driven, problem solver, hard worker, and has a clear vision of what he needs and what he should create.

Core Responsibilities:

1. We’re currently organizing and setting up policies and procedures for the entire company. We are in need of a person who can streamline, lead, and automate these processes in all the departments of the company. We need someone to organize our chaos.
2. We want someone that understands our operation. We are looking for someone who knows how a Multichannel, E-commerce, Inventory-based, Trade company (Private Label & Brands) operates. (size - from USD 1M - 50M a year). Someone who is well-versed with the following- marketplaces- Amazon, eBay. Walmart, etc. Amazon and 3PL fulfillment knowledge required).

Other Responsibilities:

1. Oversees all activities at the fulfillment center, including maximum production efficiency; inventory, and shipping/receiving functions to meet customers’ needs. Manages budget and controls expenses to ensure the organization's financial benchmarks are met.

2. Lead delivery of all targeted Business Plan metrics across productivity, quality, cost, safety, and people.

3. Lead and drive staff planning, schedules, quality initiatives, process change initiatives, and other ACES/Six Sigma initiatives to enable Operations and ultimately the FC to attain Seattle Cell Market Business Plan.

4. Lead a cross-disciplinary team to regularly review manager performance levels to continuously improve strategies in the most cost-effective manner.

5. Maintain a complete leadership overview and a thorough understanding of inventory in a multi-product automated environment.

6. Leverage off Department Managers to source and nurture ideas and roll them into the creation of improvement plans for the company, making sure that best practices are shared across all departments and the wider SCM network.

7. Work effectively with support staff (HR, Financial Manager, etc.) to build and secure support and resources for projects and initiatives.

Critical Requirements:

1. Advanced degree, Engineering/Technical Master's or MBA, or a Supply Chain/Logistics/Manufacturing related discipline.
2. The ability to lead and execute through Lean/Six Sigma, while continually driving improvement initiatives in a plant or distribution Upgrade to see actual infomonstrated experience with Continuous Improvement/Total Quality Systems including Lean Manufacturing.
3. Relevant experience in the E-Commerce industry, including Logistics Management
Strong and relevant knowledge of Amazon and other E-commerce platforms.
4. A customer-focused attitude to improving throughput by leveraging critical support staff to achieve efficient processes.
5. Experience of operating in large scale, rapid and process-driven environments, including facing operational peaks and strong growth.
6. A strong analytical approach to problem-solving with a metrics-driven focus on frugality, without sacrificing safety or customer satisfaction.
7. The ability to demonstrably overcome adversity; drives change by influencing others in order to achieve results.
8. Experience with a contingent workforce during peak seasons.
9. Demonstrated ability to operate within a constantly changing environment.

Working remote - How does it work?

We are working with hub staff in order to calculate hours. We give an offer for a job of 8 hours a day, 173 hours a month. Time is NET (when you’re taking breaks, you’re signing off the system). We suggest you take at least an hour during your work day. We don’t micromanage your breaks though – do whatever you want.

You should be OK with working with Hubstaff – we’re using it across the board for every employee that is not a C Level Executive. We don’t have any flexibility at this matter unfortunately.
