THE JOB
This is an opportunity to join a small team of high performers. The research Assistant’s (RA) main task is to analyze companies and create profiles for them. RA’s collect data, make judgement calls on what is most relevant and synthesize findings. Supporting evidence will also be attached to these findings. Work may also involve administrative tasks and macro analysis. Tasks will evolve over time and the firm’s future growth will enable great opportunities for ambitious RA's.
RA’s are expected to work 40 hours a week. The schedule may include a weekly call during US office hours, but otherwise a set day-time schedule may be followed. RA’s will work from their home offices.
A business degree with financial analysis experience is a must. CFA studies and experience with health care or listed equity analysis is a bonus.
THE FIRM
Global Health Funds (GHF) manages investments in healthcare companies globally with a goal to improve the lives of millions in resource constrained environments each year. The firm manages the Global Health Investment Fund, the first impact venture capital fund in the healthcare space - a fund that was originated by the Gates Foundation.
GHF takes a friendly activist role in the companies and only invests if the companies have strong impact and financial performance potential. The firm’s publicly-listed efforts are led by Ami Kemppainen, a highly successful public equities portfolio manager, and chaired by Curt LaBelle, the managing partner of the Global Health Investment Fund. The firm is managed from New York and Helsinki, Finland.
