Vector Graphic Designer for Personalised Gift Business

I am looking for an ambitious, motivated, professional VECTOR GRAPHIC DESIGNER to join our UK business.

This job will be a full time/part time (4-8hrs/day) occupancy to start with and I am looking for a long-term employee who is reliable and communicative, hopefully speaking good English and has sharp eyes on details.

A few words about us. We are running a personalised gift making business, we have a computer operated laser engraver machine and we advertise and sell our items on various online platforms such as eBay, Etsy, Amazon, etc… One of the corner stones of our business is creating and coming up with new graphic designs that we can attract new buyers with. This includes seasonal topics such as Mother Day or Christmas and some evergreen categories such as Wedding or Memorial Upgrade to see actual infolling online and working with freelancers is not new to us, we have been in e-commerce since 2012 and had businesses on eBay, Amazon and Shopify. We have spent way over $10k on freelancer employees in the past few years so we have experience to work with remote virtual employees which hopefully will help both of us down the line.

I'm looking for a creative, imaginative, and fast designer who is enthusiastic and has excellent English and communication skills to work remotely as a virtual employee for our company. If you are an excellent graphic designer/illustrator with the passion for creativity and hard work, I will be happy to hire you long term.

My goal is to hire a creative vector/typography designer who can produce great quality ORIGINAL designs with ease using Adobe Illustrator and/or other software that can deal with vector designs. I am looking for someone who understands the use of colour, composition, stylized typography, and preferably has some physical drawing skills (but not required), even though the work you do will be digital using Adobe Illustrator or similar software.

What I am expecting for this role:

- Dropbox and/or Google Drive access

We are taking business very seriously and I believe that the person we will work with should do the same. I usually select and shortlist potential employees throughout a 3 Phase process. First, I will shortlist applicants based on design portfolio and responsiveness to my job Upgrade to see actual infocond phase is where I ask for a test design. I use this second phase to see whether you can follow instructions, to see how well you communicate etc…typically takes 1-2 hours max, just like a real job interview. 3rd phase is where I will give you a week for you to show me what you would be capable of if you were my employee full time. Also, this is a good way for you to see whether this is something you want to commit yourself to. 3rd phase is paid. Then I will select 1-2 designers who I can work with long term. If you are happy with the job and I am happy with your trial, then I will offer you 1-month probation period following a full-time permanent job. We will have a talk about the terms after your probation month has been completed.

This job starts at $Upgrade to see actual info/month, 20-40hrs/week and your wage will be discussed again after 4 weeks so If your performance meets my expectation then you will be offered a permanent full time job and may bring you pay raise from your second month depending on your first month performance. I will offer healthcare, 13th months’ salary and overtime opportunity and a long-term income for the right permanent full-time candidate.
