JOB OVERVIEW

We are an innovative software firm and the first to automate Pre-Employment and Tenant Background Checking. We also introduced a new and improved set of business processes, to improve efficiencies, strengthen internal controls and mitigate numerous fraud risks. We are also one of only a handful of software firms with a software solution for Biometric ID Verification of identity documents (facial recognition, liveness checks and verifying document contents).

We are now looking for staff for join our Background Checking team: full-time, and part-time (20hrs+/week), for a longer-term role. We expect to make several hires throughout next Upgrade to see actual infoitially we have one position for someone more senior, to oversee other admin staff, and would also like to hire in several admin people.

Typical Responsibilities
- When an automated Biometric ID check does not pass, it goes for manual inspection. This might occur if the photo image is not clear, or if it is a fake. You will receive training on how to analyse identity documents. You will need good eyesight (with or without glasses) to see small print up close. If you cannot see small details up close please state so: we could still consider you for other roles in the dept.
- Criminal Checks: these are conducted through Govt./Police databases and typically we have to fill out forms so this is done manually (we do not automate this process)
- Checking Academic and Professional Qualifications: these are done manually as we cannot connect automatically to all Universities/Associations

When candidates register they upload their documents and other details. So to perform these checks you would access these files then perform the checks inside our Admin portal. These roles hold great importance: suppose you say someone does NOT pass a criminal check or that their degree certificate does not validate. This would probably mean the person's job offer is cancelled! We cannot play with people's lives! So we must take great care to produce very accurate answers. We need accuracy not rushed work. Our targets are 100% accuracy. Efficiency matters but not at the expense of accuracy.

Core Requirements (General Staff):
- Excellent attention to detail; very good analytical skills and well-organised
- Graduate Degree
- Strong preference for some experience performing background checks in one or more of the following: Proof of ID/Address/Qualifications/CreditChecks/Criminal Checks
- An interest in a long-term stable position

Core Requirements (Supervisor):
- The same as General Staff plus:
- Prior experience background checking is not essential but you should have strong analytical skills, be decisive, well-organised and have experience leading and mentoring others

Remuneration & Bonus:
As we are a start-up salary will be fair. There is also a bonus pool that all team members share, based on revenues, team and individual performance, as well as loyalty and hard work.

Shift Hours & Work From Home:
Depending on the candidates we short-list and their preferences we will finalise working hours. We will need to cover various time zones but the burden will be split across the team and you should be able to work part of your shift during local Upgrade to see actual infoerview & Onboarding Process:
Stage 1: Test on Attention To Detail. If this is satisfactory, there will be a second test on identifying fakes/spot the difference
Stage 2: A phone interview
Onboarding: Upon receiving a verbal offer and an offer in writing, you will be expected to provide: Proof of ID, Address, Qualifications and verify your recent work history. You will also need to sign a Non-Disclosure-Non-Compete. Anyone unwilling to go through this process should not apply. (We tell you this upfront so you can choose whether or not to invest time in this process).
