Dear applicant,
a small and aspiring academic team working in the field of cancer research is searching for a skilled and talented allround scientific research assistant/VA to help with many tasks. Some of the tasks are listed below.
If you are interested, read carefully through this post and follow the instructions. The hiring process is divided into three
- Data collection, entry, and database management
- Administrative tasks (e.g. travel planning)
- Scientific poster preparation
- Writing and reviewing research proposals
- Writing, proofreading, and reviewing scientific manuscripts
- Create appealing visualizations
- Create scientific charts
- Editing audio and video files
- Assisting with personal tasks
General key competences:
- Very high standard of communications skills both written and oral for the presentation of facts and ideas
- Presents information both clearly and concisely and regularly confirms correct interpretation of information
- Used to independent working and problem-solving
- High degree of reliability, particularly meeting predefined deadlines
- Excellent administrative skills
- Perfect
- Reliable work under time pressure
- Extensive computer and internet literacy
- Working proficiency in English (Speaking and Writing)
Specific skills and abilities/prerequisites:
- Previous academic experience in medical or bioscience/biology/psychology related fields is desirable
- Strong background in using graphics software (e.g. Adobe Photoshop)
- Proficiency with advanced (!) Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Power Point and Excel
- Prior experience with Pubmed, Medline or Google Scholar is desirable, but not mandatory
- Prior knowledge in basic statistics desirable (e.g. t-test, ANOVA, regression models)
- Used to self-paced online-learning (e.g. Coursera, Udemy, etc.)
- Data science experience is desirable
- Eperience with data visualization
- Experience with R, SPSS, Stata, Prism or Python desirable, but not mandatory
- Experience with medical imaging (DICOM files) desirable, but not mandatory
- Stable internet Connection
- Your own computer with enough free disc space (at least 100 GB)
- You are willing to work full time (40+ hours per week) for the proposed salary
