JOB OVERVIEW

Jumpcut is looking for a lead Community Manager for our growing community team! This role will be super fulfilling for anyone who enjoys teaching, meeting new people, working with passionate and driven team members..or all of the above :)

A bit about us: Jumpcut is a rapidly growing online education startup that creates captivating courses, which ties into our bigger vision of helping all aspiring digital entrepreneurs achieve their dreams.

There are over 100 million people, in America alone, who want to be their own boss and start their own business..but not everyone knows how to efficiently utilize the overwhelming number of resources at hand today.

We’re here to help bridge that gap for people -- to guide people in starting a business in any area of digital entrepreneurship, whether you want to become a Youtube influencer, make your own online course, or the like.

ROLE OVERVIEW:

Our courses are currently self-paced, but in an effort to provide more guidance to the students, we’re creating “live bootcamps” for each course, to offer students a chance to get more structure / mentorship.

A standard bootcamp is 10-14 weeks and in this intensive program, our lead Community Managers guide a batch of students through each week’s content, over chat. There IS a video lesson call each week, but we have actual students from our course lead those -- that said, IF we don’t have available students for a video call on a given week, one of our lead CMs will have to take over for that week (and this amounts to a monetary bonus -- keep reading for details).

Overall, the Live Bootcamp aims to hold students accountable (to do the course assignments), to give them feedback, a chance to connect with other students, and a deep foundational knowledge that will let them pursue their path on their own after the program.

As lead Community Manager (lead CM), you’ll be assigned to one of our courses and will be responsible for leading teams of students through that course’s content. Though you’ll be working alongside other CMs, who can offer you advice / help, you will be your teams’ point person for questions and feedback, and you’ll also be responsible for joining in on the weekly video lessons (led by students), to assist them and further your own knowledge on our content.

At Jumpcut, we deeply value our students and want to help them grow. As lead CM, you’ll be on the frontline of this, giving them feedback and encouragement, and preparing them for their own paths to success.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Learning our course content + concepts thoroughly
• Engaging with students regularly over chat ? giving feedback, motivation, and just connecting with them, in general
• Potentially leading weekly video calls to go over that week’s content and to answer questions / discuss topics (if no students are available to do this)
• Working with fellow Community Managers (and the rest of the community team) to improve the overall Live Bootcamp structure and student experience, using student feedback
• Help with one-off tasks and projects when you’re not actively leading a team of students

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

• Someone with perfect fluency in English ? this is one of the most important things: since the job requires talking with groups over chat AND potentially over a video call, you MUST be able to speak AND write like a native speaker (perfect grammar, natural / native english proficiency)
• Someone who is comfortable being on camera, interacting with new people, and being an authority figure (i.e. being able to give tough love)
• Someone who is confident (but not cocky), personable, and who is a good conversationalist / in tune with social cues
• Someone who is good-hearted, motivated, and smart -- i.e. people like working with you
• Someone with a growth mindset, who is open to adapting to different situations / people / projects
• Someone who is a strong problem solver / who is willing to take initiative in finding solutions
• Someone who can maintain a positive attitude with every student they interact with, someone who can motivate / inspire
• Someone who has stable internet, a working camera/microphone, and a quiet working environment (super important)

ADDITIONALLY, YOU MIGHT BE A GOOD FIT IF...

• You’ve had previous teaching experience -- in person or online
• You’re interested in entrepreneurship in any capacity
• You like working with a team and feel fulfilled when you help people grow / guide them

COMPENSATION
• 680 USD/month i.e. ~35,620 PHP/month, for 160 hours of work
• 5 USD flat bonus for each video call you end up taking in a Bootcamp (i.e. if you ended up taking 3 calls, you’ll get paid an extra • 15 USD at the end of the Bootcamp)
• We have raise evaluations every 6 months and are very supportive of our employees’ career growth in general (i.e. we’re open to you applying to other Jumpcut departments if you’re interested)
