Senior Content Writer

Hi,
My team is looking for a full-time senior-level writer who has superior writing, reading, and editing skills in English. We have a cooking/kitchen website we would need you to write and help manage content, create content calendars, work with a style guide, understand and work to creative briefs and more. We would like to have you write us a sample blog post (which we will pay you for) so that we can get to know you and your writing style before hiring full time. This position pays up to $625 USD per month with the opportunity for growth to Managing Editor in two years, with a pay increase up to $750 per month.

You will become a cornerstone of our team. We need you, and we expect you to:

- Be willing to provide a link to your writing samples.
- Willing to write a sample blog post before being hired per our guidelines within 24 hours (which we will pay you $30 USD for)
- Can write at least 10,000 words of original writing per week, approximatelyUpgrade to see actual infoword articles.
- You will have access to a stock photography database and will be tasked with searching for images that will accompany your writing.
- You will be responsible for packaging and preparing your content, images, and social media content/hashtags (as relevant) and delivering to our virtual assistant to load into our site.
- Proofread and edit our old posts to meet our current style and English guidelines.
- Must work eight hours per day between 9 am and 8 pm Central Time (Chicago, USA) and available by Slack or Skype.
- Provide professional references.

Preferred skills but not required:

- Some familiarity with writing related to cooking, recipes, kitchen gadgets, caretaking of household, lifestyle writing, home and garden, etc.
- Familiarity with WordPress, social media platforms, and general digital marketing precepts, such as affiliate marketing, content marketing, and more.
- You are okay with tight deadlines and delivering polished writing quickly.
- Ability to research trends and dovetail hashtag holidays with current events.
- Any “spun”, copied, or plagiarized writing that you provide to us is grounds for immediate dismissal without pay.
- Willing to ask questions and join our team for on-video conference calls about once per week.
- Have a good-to-excellent internet connection.

Position starts immediately.
Benefits:
10 days of PTO begins after six months of contract work with us. Paydays are 15th and 25th of every month.
Holidays paid for 2019: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.
13th Month pay offered December 2020.
You become part of our team and will grow with us. You will work with the owners and the virtual assistant that has been with us since early 2018.
Performance raise at six months.
