Junior Java Developer

We are looking for a Junior Java Developer with a background in computer science, web development, and/or related fields. A bachelor's degree in any of those fields is a plus. You must be extremely competent in Java and MySQL. 4+ years’ experience is required.

We are looking for someone with the ability to ramp up very quickly on a heavy duty Java project. If you do not consider yourself in expert in Java and have the determination and drive to help us finish this challenging project on a very tight deadline, please do not apply. We are startup with a project that already has many customers lined up and waiting to give us money… we just need you to help get us to the finish line.

The candidate we hire will have are strong attention to detail, an ability to multitask, and an ability to work independently and on a team. You'll have strong analytical skills, as well as a good overall understanding of the latest stacks, tools, & best practices of development. Tasks may include design, maintenance, working closely w/ customers. You'll be making important technical recommendations & implementing such recommendations.

Required Skills:
- Minimum 2-3 years experience s in Java programming with experience in application design, software development and maintenance.
- Advanced knowledge in Springboot
- Good knowledge of SQL and database systems such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.
- Good knowledge of web standards (HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Laravel is a plus, React Js)
- Quick learner and adapter of new frameworks and technologies
- English language fluency and very good communication skills
- Attention to details and some creativity on how processes could be improved as well as business requirements could be met
- Good team player and ability to exchange information and support with coworkers

Desirable Skills:
- Good knowledge in some back-end technologies like Spring, Hibernate, Solr, SQL or others
- Knowledgeable with microservices
- Excitement for the latest trends in application design

This opportunity is a remote full-time, independent contractor position with a 30 day probationary period. Applicant must reside in the Philippines. Salary range is PHP 30,000 - 40,000, based on experience, plus bonuses and profit sharing.
