URGENT NEED: FULL-TIME VIDEO EDITOR FOR A RAPIDLY GROWING BOOK PUBLISHING COMPANY

We are looking for a talented video editor to assemble recorded footage or slides into a finished project that matches the client’s vision and is suitable for broadcasting and media marketing. The goal is to bring sight (images plus appropriate text) and sound together in order to tell a cohesive story.

You must have a strong background in video editing, be goal-oriented, deadline-conscious, resourceful and creative. Those who make the cut will be contacted right away. You must be able to prove you're great because you will be tested.

Primary Responsibilities:

Manipulate and edit film pieces in a way that is invisible to the audience

Create a brief to grasp production team’s needs and specifications

Trim footage segments and put together the sequence of the film

Input music, dialogues, graphics and effects

Create rough and final cuts

Ensure logical sequencing and smooth running

Consult with stakeholders from production to post-production process

Continuously discover and implement new editing technologies and industry’s best practices to maximize efficiency


Ideal Skills and Qualifications:

Proven working experience in video editing of at least 2 years

Solid experience with digital technology and editing software packages (e.g. Avid Media Composer,

Lightworks, Premiere, After Effects, Final Cut)

Demonstrable video editing ability with a strong portfolio

Thorough knowledge of timing, motivation, continuity etc

Familiarity with special effects, 3D and compositing

Creative mind and storytelling skills

Extremely detail-oriented and organized

Proven ability to effectively prioritize tasks with minimal supervision

Ability to exercise good judgment, initiative and pro-activeness

High standard of ethics

Flexible and open to working in a 24x7 work environment

Has a high-speed internet connection (DSL cable and a backup mobile internet stick) at home

Can start working full time immediately and has no plans to take an extensive holiday (3+ weeks) in the next 3 to 6 months
