Web and Online Database Developer

Dynamic HTML / web based database developer



MUST have:
Experience in authoring dynamic html using php and MySQL, and using phpmyadmin to administrate content
Experience in defining CSS type standardisation
Experience in designing, building and maintaining relational databases
Experience in interacting with hosted web environments, including CMS
Experience in setting up SSL connections

SHOULD have:
Experience with the Weebly CMS
Working knowledge of crontab tasks and backup processes
Experience in maintaining hosted online forums
Experience in configuring APIs for third party login privileges such as Google and Facebook
Experience in setting up systems for online billing and payments

The job will involve defining a specification for a relational database and GUI to store information about members of an international group of academics, which will interact with a Vanilla Forum that they are using to communicate with each other. The applicant will need to investigate what options are available for the members database from open source software and low cost proprietary software for doing so, but if necessary have the skill to build such a database/GUI from scratch. The applicant will need to either configure or scratch build a graphical user interface for both client interaction with the members database and an administration console for the running and maintenance of the group. The database will require SSL encryption for user interaction, and ideally API integration with both Google and Facebook for login processes. The front end of the database must allow the members of the group to filter content about other members and search the database for other members profiles, so that they can contact and collaborate with each other. The database will need to be able to generate outgoing emails and bills for membership fees for administrative purposes and for the users to contact each other using a contact form to retain email privacy depending on the persons preferences. The applicant must have the knowledge and skills necessary to customise and develop the database and it’s graphical user interface over time as per the clients instructions.
