JOB OVERVIEW

Job Summary

As the Amazon Category Manager, you are the Subject Matter Expert regarding the assigned product categories. You religiously analyze competitor/industry developments, anticipate strategic opportunities and execute to rapidly scale profits in the category.

Job Description

- Research, Strategy, Execution
- Identify & execute on profitable opportunities in the category e.g. merchandising, bundling, price strategy, branding, product development, design improvements, etc.
- Monitor current & potential threats in category e.g. negative reviews, market changes, price drops, product obsolesce, legal issues, etc.
- Thorough understanding of seasonality and global trends/events, and continually monitor competitor/industry developments
- Execute with speed and accuracy to be one step ahead of competition and market
- Decide when to scale, kill, or pivot our current products in the category

Financial management
- Manage financials through pricing, driving cost improvements, and intelligently managing inventory (buying/selling)
- Identify, achieve and report on savings and value targets for category sourcing activities
- Conduct financial analysis of business opportunities to meet and exceed revenue and profitability goals

Team Coordination
- Coordinates buying activities with inventory planning team at the lowest cost and assorts products to meet customers’ needs and maximum sales volume
- Coordinates w/ graphics designers, photographers, copy writers, ad buyers to optimize listings and respond to market conditions
- Coordinates with product development team to improve product quality and marketability
- Coordinates marketing activities with the marketing and merchandising team and keeps stakeholders informed
- Works with leadership to address all aspects of buying, market trends assessment, pricing and product availability

Qualifications:

- Graduate of a top 5 university in the Philippines or graduated Cum Laude
- >3 years direct years leadership experience in the specific role
- Enjoy new changes and a constant changing environment
- Have a “figuring it out” and “get it done” attitude
- Comes from a competitive background
- Spreadsheet wizard
- Computer and spreadsheet wizard
