JOB OVERVIEW

Hitsquad Pty Ltd is an Australian based online media company now in our 22nd year of business and we publish Upgrade to see actual info which is the website successful applicants will be working on.

Upgrade to see actual info is a leading provider of music gear buying guides. We strive to provide the most thoroughly researched information about music gear, which pieces of gear are best for a particular purpose, and report on what the music community likes or dislikes about individual products.

We have proprietary tools and systems, using Drupal as the CMS, for which we will provide training so that you will be able conduct product research and produce world class information and advice that will affect the purchasing decisions of thousands of musicians around the world with a particular emphasis on those who live in the USA.

The successful applicant will be expected to write guides and articles of up to 3000 words in length.

The following requirements are mandatory:
• Experience as a Musician, Producer, Audio Engineer or DJ – either as a hobby or professional
• Experience writing long-form English language articles
• Able to communicate via video calls on Skype
• Available to work full-time on week days
• Must have suitable working space, a reliable computer and good internet connection
• Must have the following software: Skype, Email (preferably IMAP capable) and some sort of office software such as MS Office or Open Office.

The following would be beneficial, but are not required:
• Experience with Drupal
• Web development or graphic design experience

Your responsibilities will include:
• Researching music products and entering information into a database
• Writing Gear Guides – EG Upgrade to see actual info
• Providing daily work summary reports

Wages:
• You will be required to submit weekly invoices and will receive payments weekly via PayPal - we will pay transaction fees.
• Your specific wage will depend on your skills and experience and will be agreed upon before you commence work.

We are located in Brisbane, Australia, and will conduct most of our communication with you via Skype and email, and you will be required to be logged into Skype during working hours Monday to Friday – you can work between 9am and 5pm your local time – specific times are negotiable.

Written applications will be taken initially and Job Interviews will be conducted via Skype. Applicants who pass the first stage of this process will be assigned a short writing task to verify their research and writing skills.

Your written application must include a list of some of the main items of music gear you own or have used.

Please try to include referees who speak English so that we will be able to call them and verify your references if you are successful in your application.
