JOB OVERVIEW

Yellowbird Publishing LLC is a growing publishing and Internet marketing company with a wide portfolio of services and products that range from books, marketing tools, software, online coaching, to subscription services.

Summary:

The Software QA Tester will be largely responsible for finding system defects before a release of the product is available to client users. Their decisions and actions will have a significant impact on customer satisfaction. This is a part-time contractor position. Telecommuting is acceptable.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and execute detailed test plans, test cases, test scripts. You will be expected to contribute to functional, integration, certification, and regression testing, and work closely with developers in areas such as accessibility, security, and performance.
• Develop innovative testing solutions that meet market and business needs with respect to functionality, performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Write and maintain records of tests.
• Scope and estimate testing effort, help plan projects, track progress to schedule, and report status including remedy plans for project risks.
• Report and track issues and defects; follow-through with fix resolution and validation.
• Utilize knowledge of software design and work closely with engineering team to continually reassess risk and update testing strategies appropriately.
• Work closely with business and development groups from conception to completion of multiple simultaneous projects.
• Perform related duties as assigned or requested.


Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience following Quality Assurance processes.
• Strong communication and written skills.
• Familiarity with web services and defect tracking systems.
• Manual / Functional testing.
• Experience in creation of test plans.
• Experience in creating test cases.
• Strong knowledge of web and internet technologies.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge with software development life cycle.
• SQL database knowledge preferred.
• Automated testing and proficiency with Selenium of similar tools preferred.
• Experience with Linux/Unix preferred.
• Previous experience in the e-Commerce industry preferred
