Ruby on Rails Expert

We're looking for an ROR expert who can work independently with minimal supervision. We're a New York based company seeking someone who would like to be part of a growing team.

Skills Required:
- Good understanding of the syntax of Ruby and its nuances
- Solid understanding of object-oriented programming
- Understanding of functional programming style in Ruby
- Familiarity with concepts of MVC, MVVM, ORM and RESTful
- Experience with rails web application frameworks
- Knack for writing clean, readable Ruby code with sufficient commenting to explain routines
- Experience with both external and embedded databases
- Understanding of fundamental design principles behind scalable applications
- Able to create database schemas that represent and support business processes
- Implementation of automated testing platforms and unit test
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools (eg. Git, SVN)
- Familiarity with development aiding tools (such as Bower, Bundler, Rake, etc)
- Familiarity with continuous integration
- Familiarity with frameworks, libraries and other technologies such as Ruby, Rails, jQuery, and Kendo UI
- Understanding of Relational Databases and SQL
- User Interface (UI) design experience
- Application usability expertise
- Current knowledge of computer and communications technology, concepts and operation
- Ability to produce high quality program code to specification
- Ability to summarize code so that others can understand its purpose and function

Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in information technology field or Computer Science
- 2-4 years of experience in programming in Ruby on Rails
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in programming in one or more of the following languages
- Ruby on Rails

- JAVA
- HTML, PHP, XML, JavaScript –knowledge of development of active and dynamic web sites
