We’re looking for a weekend warrior Ruby on Rails developer to work part time on maintaining and improving our product. We estimate a maximum of approximately 20 to 30 hours / week, with skype meetings twice a week with the company partners.

Job Description
We are looking for a developer responsible for building Ruby applications, including anything from complex groups of back-end microservices to command line utilities and data processing scripts. A commitment to collaborative problem solving, design, and building quality products is essential.

Responsibilities
BSc in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent is a must
Proven recent 3+ years of experience in Ruby on rails
Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Ruby code
Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the applications in desktop and mobile
Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to problems
Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization
Participate in brainstorming sessions and have the chance to contribute innovative and original ideas to our technology and product
Dive into difficult problems and successfully deliver results within a schedule
Design, build, test, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Ruby code
Drive continuous adoption and integration of relevant new technologies into design
Follow agile software development best practices (test-driven development, continuous integration, refactoring, code standards)

Skills
Good understanding of the syntax of Ruby and its nuances
Solid understanding of object-oriented programming & finding existing gems to integrate
You need to be able to write clean, readable Ruby code
Understanding of fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
Understanding of WebRTC and video chat APIs
Front end maintenance
Improving current booking systems and payment systems
