Homebased Web Developer

Type of Position: Full-Time Independent Contractor, 40 Hours/Week
Work Hours: 12:00p PHT - 9:00p PHT Monday-Friday (one hour break included)

Position Description:

The Web Developer will assist the Royalty Acquisition team at Optimize Overseas in the procurement of oil & gas royalties by building & maintaining various custom applications to support the acquisition process. A majority of these custom applications will be web-based, allowing users in America, India, & the Philippines to make use of them at any time via the Internet.

The web applications will require a user-friendly frontend, built using the latest standards of HTML, CSS, & Javascript, as well as a sophisticated backend, built predominantly using PHP. Most Web Applications will be hosted on Google App Engine (GAE), thus some familiarity with GAE, Google Cloud Platform, and other Google products is preferred. A thorough understanding of SQL and a deep understanding of relational database concepts & design is required.

Certain projects will also require intermediate understanding of other programming & meta languages, including XML, C#, & C++. Java & Ruby On Rails may also be required in the future. Other languages and technical knowledge may be required over time, so the Web Developer should be very comfortable teaching themselves new languages & APIs when needed, using online resources and technical documentation.

Lastly, the Web Developer will need to work closely with the team manager, Blake Morgan (U.S.), and development lead, Anupam Bhandari (India), along with various other members of the Royalty Acquisition team around the globe in order to understand the application requirements in granular detail and program in an accurate manner. This will require excellent spoken & written English and good interpersonal & teamwork skills. Over time, the Web Developer’s responsibilities will transform and Upgrade to see actual infosired Skills:
Advanced Command Of The Following Languages (Required):

Compensation Commensurate With Experience: 17,000 PHP/mo - 30,000 PHP/mo
