Remote Medical Scribe

Since 2015, we've hired a significant number of experienced physicians and nurses, primarily from the Philippines, to work with US doctors as remote medical scribes. We’re looking for more self-motivated physicians and nurses with clinical experience and good English listening and writing skills to work on a full-time basis.

Job description:
As a scribe, you’ll listen to conversations between US-based doctors and their patients, and use your medical knowledge to extract and summarize medically significant information into a SOAP note. Your work with Inscribe will further develop your ability to think and write like a US physician. You will learn commonplace labs/testing, prescription medication, overall U.S. medical system norms, and generally help improve the care of their patients. You will also have the opportunity to grow in your role and take on leadership positions.

Salary / pay: PHP 40,000 - 55,000 per month (after training)
Trained scribes working 40 hours per week typically earn PHP 40,000 per month, with pay increasing to PHP 55,000 per month within 3-6 months. Scribes can expect periodic raises and tenure-based bonuses. Pay is based on the amount of audio scribed, the quality of medical notes produced, and tenure with Inscribe.

Training program:
To learn the expectations of US doctors, new scribes are required to complete a 3-5 week training program (depending on experience) before being placed on a US medical practice. Trainees generally make PHP 215 / hour, though this is negotiable.

Qualification:
- Strong English ability - listen, understand, and summarize in clear, concise English
- Relevant clinical experience - Prefer 1+ years as a licensed Medical Doctor, but may accept doctors with 3+ months of clinical experience outside of residency and medical school.
- Nurses must have a minimum of 3+ years of clinical experience.
- Remote role - Must be self-motivated, with dedicated time and distraction-free space for work.
- Strong listening skills, proactive communication, attention to details, and ability to meet a deadline.
- Reliable 3+ mbps internet connection. Computer literate (Google docs).
- Willing to commit to 30-45 consistent hours per week for a minimum of 1 year

Responsibility:
- Follow patient confidentiality guidelines and legal documentation requirements including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
- Listen to recordings of patient/clinician interactions and/or clinicians dictations.
- Articulate and scribe a cohesive and medically relevant note for each patient, including a SOAP note structure, using the information provided.
- Navigate through Electronic Health Record and enter patient records for clinicians review/approval.
