JOB OVERVIEW

I have multiple existing businesses and projects that I'd like operations support on. Above all, this person needs to have common sense, good judgement (for example, being able to identify and find the right resources needed to complete the various tasks), and be good at "figuring things out". The "Skills Required" are an ideal skill set, I understand it is unlikely for anyone to be an expert at all of the items I've checked. At minimum you should have enough familiarity to be able to identify, hire, and manage someone who is an expert.

Here are some example tasks I would have preferred to have someone help with. I also understand you might not have every single skill needed to do the wide variety of tasks that will come up - programming, graphic design, copywriting, adwords/facebook advertising, social media - so understand and expect there to be a combination of you doing the actual work + you finding a freelancer (possibly even a very highly paid one if the task requires) to get the job done. What matters is your judgement, efficiency at completing tasks, and process accountability. For a lot of these tasks, I am hoping you can help me get 80% of the way to finished, as I understand you are not going to know my businesses as well as I do right away.

We will work closely on tasks, with a typical cycle as follows:
- I will send over details of the task. There will be some back and forth to make sure the objective and deliverables are clear.
- You will execute on the task, and let me know if I can offer support of any kind. Keeping me in the loop when decisions need to be made, additional resources need to be found, etc.
- I will review the deliverable and provide feedback and next steps if necessary.

Here are some example tasks...

Task 1:
We had a designer create these nice templates for us. We need to get these wire frames into a usable format on mailchimp. See if it's possible to create custom templates that can then be easily modified w/o having to know code. I think it is.. https://mailchimp.com/features/email-templates/. Get these templates implement the changes for us.

Task 2:
Through trial and error, find a small team of outsourced content creators who can write useful web articles along the quality and style of https://vanwinkles.com/ and http://www.livestrong.com/

Task 3
Implement Amazon Enhanced Brand Content pages for our Amazon.com listed product pages

Task 4
Check ebay stores daily, and fulfill orders via our 3rd party logistics providers + answer any outstanding customer service questions

Task 5
Respond to Amazon seller account customer service questions.

Task 6
Coordinate packaging of products with our packaging vendor. I will send you a purchase order for goods to be packaged. You will coordinate everything after that, which includes logistics of goods from our manufacturer to packaging vendor, then to the final destination. Sending shipping labels, ordering packaging material, etc. as needed.

Task 7
Implement website updates based on project description I will provide. Ideally you can handle things from finding a graphic designer to web developer to implement if I do not already have someone in place for a specific task.

Task 8
Create/implement/execute on adwords and facebook advertising. Do all yourself or w/ the help of an outside expert in the area.

We will have sample tasks during the interview process, including a live writing sample exercise - I will create a google doc and watch live as you write a 300 word blog entry on a topic that will presented at the interview.
