JOB OVERVIEW

This varied role provides high levels of end-to-end responsibility for accounting. You will be responsible for accounts management, reports, Bank Account reconciliation, data analysis, annual budget, tax and compliance etc.

We are a family group of 3 small businesses in Melbourne. One retail business, one promoting healthy-eating for families and one in education and mental development of primary-aged children. Our small team includes 6 full-time in Australia and 2 full-time virtual staff. We are now seeking to add a full-time accounts role to our team.

A permanent full-time position is now available, working regular 40 hours each week, during business hours (Mon-Fri, 9.30am - 6.30pm) Melbourne, Australia time. The role calls for an experienced and efficient Accountant with outstanding analytical data review skills. You must have experience with reconciliations, payroll, monthly reports, annual budget and KPI metrics.

Job Responsibilities:
1. Processing and tracking all financial transactions for 3 small companies
2. Ensuring tax and regulation compliance
3. Financial reporting and analysis
4. Develop, track and report on Key Performance Indicators for each company .

Please note that you will develop a dashboard and is expected to provide pro-active advice and analysis of financial and other KPI data.

Duties:
- Reconciliation of Bank Accounts,Paypal and merchant accounts
- Posting purchases
- Creating and sending invoices
- Record keeping and virtual filing
- Payroll
- Superannuation
- BAS and GST reports
- Cash flow forecasting
- Preparation and presentation of monthly financial reports :Monthly Management Accounts
- KPI research and reporting
- Documentation of accounting processes
- Responding to accounts related emails
- Preparation and presentation of monthly reports and status of government-required reports to management
- Recommend appropriate measures to be undertaken for financial issues arising in the business
- Develop key metrics and KPIs to measure the success of accounting activities and maximise ROI
- EOFY Reports and Company Tax Return
- Contribution and creation of an annual budget
- Complete ad-hoc finance tasks and projects as required
- Compliance work and documentation for eligible Grants programs such as R&D or EMDG

Key Selection Criteria
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
- Minimum 2 years accountant experience in a small to medium organisation
- Experience with Australian accounting practices, GST, Tax and compliance requirements-strongly preferred but not required.
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting
- CPA/CA not required, but appreciated
- Experience using Xero or other cloud-based accounts software
- Experience with Dropbox, Gmail, Skype and other cloud-applications
- Ability to demonstrate initiative to improve day to day business transactions
