General Standards:
- Words that you can't understand or can't find the spelling of should be put in [square brackets]. This is done when finding the appropriate spelling could be very difficult. That being said, research is an important part of your responsibilities, so finding proper names and nouns is an important part of your job.

- Acronyms and abbreviations should not contain periods (US instead of U.S.)

- Type a website name in standard URL format, using .com, .org, etc, all lowercase. Only include www if the speaker says it.

- To make it easier to read, you can omit false starts and um, you know to make the sentence more readable.

- Speaker identification:
- Each time the speaker changes (including the beginning of the file), indicate this with their name in all caps followed by a colon. This should also always be the beginning of a paragraph.

- Use the speaker's full name (first and last) if you know it. You can use just a first or last name if you have that info. If you don't know their name at all, label them SPEAKER 1, SPEAKER 2, etc, in order of when they first speak in the file.

- Money Standards:
When someone is talking about money, use the dollar sign, $100, $9.
- If the speaker is very clearly talking about money but doesn't use the word "dollars," include the dollar sign anyway.
- For money less than a dollar, use the form $0.50. Don't forget the zero before the decimal point.
- For round numbers like in the millions and above, use the word "million", "billion," with the numbers, so $15 million, not $15,000,000.
