I have spent the last 8 years of my professional life working in a regional bureau of the largest media network in the Philippines, ABS-CBN. I started as a field reporter. I had covered stories from different beats. With that, I had honed my writing skills - no matter what the topic is.
As a regional bureau reporter, we had a daily quota of 3 to 4 stories per day, which we have to gather in the morning and write the scripts in the afternoon to make it to the daily newscast. Hence, I am well-trained to work under pressure without sacrificing the quality of my outputs.
I am dedicated to the tasks entrusted to me; sometimes even going the extra mile to make sure the commitment will be delivered on time. I would like to think this attitude of mine towards work was one of the main factors why after two years, I was promoted as a desk editor.
As a desk editor, I was technically the head of the news department. My tasks include managerial functions. I also handled the news fund and prepare financial and administrative reports weekly.
As the leader of the news team, I had been able to see things in macro and micro perspective. Having had this privilege, I have learned to always assess a particular situation with a wider perspective.
I am a fast learner. I am not afraid of taking new challenges, knowing that they can develop myself into a better individual so I can better perform my responsibilities.
