For 14 years now, I have worked as a Communications Specialist for programs and policies of the Government of the Philippines. I've handled various communications components of the Philippine government's national anti-poverty program, peace and development program, a major peace agreement, proposed legislation for an autonomous political entity, and human rights project, namely:
• Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (Philippine Conditional Cash Transfer Program) - the flagship poverty-reduction project of the national government;
• Payapa at Masaganang Pamayanan (Peaceful and Resilient Comunities) – the flagship peace and development program of the national government;
• Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro - peace pact between the PH government and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front;
• Proposed Bangsamoro Basic Law – the enabling law for the establishment of the Bangsamoro political entity that seeks to address the long-drawn conflict in Mindanao;
• Governance in Justice (GoJust) Human Rights Project - European Union-funded project that seeks to strengthen the Commission on Human Rights' capacity to promote accountability and fight impunity for major human rights violation
Given the nationwide scope of the government programs I have handled and the various communication roles I've played, I have developed my skills and expertise in the following areas:
• Writing Press Releases and Features
• Editing
• Copywriting
• Written Communications
• Media Relations and Networking
