I am currently working as an Appointment setter. My job includes scheduling appointments, follow-up calls, and sending text messages and emails to students. I am using Ring Central and Phone Burner to dial out and Gmail to send emails. Also do basic Canva and video editing. What I love about being a Virtual Assistant is I got to develop new skills and I am open to more opportunities. As a fast learner, I get to have minimal supervision but the good thing, is I always provide good and positive results, and to my future clients, hiring me will save you time and money.
When I was in college, I used to be a Team Leader in our Research, where we need to study certain establishments and it made me develop my writing skills since we need to come up with ideas for our team. Also, I was given a chance to speak in front of the panels and it really boosts my confidence and develop my communication skills. After college, I have tried helping our little ones with their assignments since we can't go outside because of the pandemic, it allows me to learn basic tutoring skills.
Being a Virtual Assistant/ Appointment Setter for a year, helps me develop my relationship with our students. Since I am the one contacting them to schedule an appointment and follow up with them after the orientation, I need to make sure that they understand my role as the Assistant of their Advisor. There are times that they get irritated because of text messages and follow-up calls, and this is where I usually use my Customer Service Skills, communicating with them and letting them know the importance of what they signed up for.
