My detailed job description were as follows; 1. Prepares on board payroll using computerized payroll system and export into accounting system(citrix/sun) 2. Checks the accuracy and completeness of cash on board then input the details (income and expenses) 3. Prepares billing to the vessel's owner and record the receivables. 4. Counter checks billing done by Junior members of the department and advice them on any accounting issue that needs to be sorted out. 5. Records collections and other related transactions such as adjustments and the like. 6. Reconciles accounts between the system balances and the actual balances at the end of the month. As for my previous jobs from 1999-2008, from Assistant Head to Accounting Head, below were my detailed job descriptions: 1. Assists in the Preparation of Financial Statements, Bank reconciliation and other related accounting task needed. 2. Prepares Govt remittances 3. As an Accounting Head I am in charged of the monthly Financial Statements , processing of semi monthly payroll and checks accuracy of disbursements prepared by other members of the department.
