I am Nida
I am a graduate of a double degree course, AB English – BSE Major in English from the Ateneo de Naga University. I took up many writing classes such as technical writing, creative writing, translation and editing of text, and even intensive grammar. I also have 27 post-graduate units from the Philippine Normal University, Manila. After graduating, I became a teacher for 9 years and a debate moderator for 7 years. Furthermore, I was a national trainer for writing modules under the PEAC for two consecutive years.
So, why hire me? I believe that there are 3 things to consider: my PERSONALITY, EXPERTISE, and EXPERIENCE.
I am a disciplined writer who can work with or without the boss. I am also open to new learning experiences that will enhance my capabilities in the field.
I am confident yet humble with my writing ability and my writing itself. Furthermore, I am also assertive and bold. However, amidst these strong traits lie my inner calmness, patience, and persistence.
For almost twelve years now, I am acquainted and equipped with several computer programs that are concerned with writing. I see writing as part of all types of presentations, for pictures alone cannot reveal underlying messages and unexplained hang-ups. I create word press (MS Word Documents), visual presentations (PowerPoint and Prezi), photo captions, and even videos with texts (Pro Show and Filmora). I have an expert command of the English Language, be it written or oral (I can do voice-over from scripts that I write). I am also particular with grammar, punctuations, and diction (choice of words), and other conventions and mechanics of writing. I am also capable of producing both creative and technical writing in English. I can also be an instructional/ learning material developer for English lessons (grammar in particular).
As mentioned, I was a teacher for 9 years and a debate moderator for 7 years, and this profession called for many writing tasks. I wrote instructional curriculum maps, the budget of work, learning plans, performance tasks, reports, letters, school documents, minutes of the meeting, and many instructional materials (visual and Audi- visual). Moreover, I personally edit these documents. I also have profound experience in copy reading as I quarterly check 250 formal themes of secondary students and 150 formal themes of primary students as class requirements.
I have also conducted classes on Materials Preparation and Evaluation in college which widened my horizon in intensifying my advocacy for learning using technology.
