Being a production supervisor and manager for small time
publishing companies in the Philippines has proven to be the most difficult yet
rewarding task over the years. Supervising and creating training materials for
publishing staff, planning and implementing marketing campaigns, and staying
current on market trends are all part of the job. I also review and edit print
material, approve all copy before publication, negotiate contracts or licensing
agreements, and participate in project-related reviews or promotional
activities.
Publications Manager oversees a group of publishing
associates and develops, coordinates, and supervises the writing, editing,
designing, illustrating, conceptualizing, and production of publications. I
also ensure that the publication programme adheres to publishing policy
standards; provides editorial and production services to other departments; and
plans and coordinates production schedules. One of the most intriguing aspects
of this job is the opportunity to learn so much. You never stop learning, from
content writing to marketing plans and strategies to Adobe Photoshop usage.
My greatest weakness is that I can work under pressure and
always ensure that I deliver a quality, satisfactory product to clients while
also adhering to my own deadline. I consider myself a perfectionist at times.
Experience wise, I am more than equipped with enthusiasm,
perseverance and the right knowledge of the modern technology nowadays which
would make me the perfect fit for the job.
